The Root Cause of Healing: What most naturopathic doctors won’t tell you

If you’re searching for a Naturopathic Doctor near me or wondering if holistic counseling is the answer to your chronic symptoms, you’re not alone. Many people turn to naturopathic medicine after hitting a wall with conventional healthcare—but even in the world of "natural healing," there's a common trap:

We mistake a diagnosis for a root cause.

As a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and holistic practitioner, I see this every day. And I’m not just speaking as a clinician—I’m speaking as a woman who’s had to walk this path myself.

My Story: From Diagnosis to Deep Healing

After the birth of my son, I found myself in uncharted territory. Physically depleted. Emotionally raw. Spiritually questioning everything.

When my menstrual cycle didn’t return, the obvious diagnosis was postpartum amenorrhea. I did everything "right":

  • Nourished my body

  • Came off breastfeeding

  • Ran labs

  • Rested more

  • Took my herbs and supplements

Still, something was missing.

That diagnosis didn’t tell the whole story.

I began to realize: even in holistic medicine, we can get trapped in protocols, labels, and surface-level fixes. I was doing all the right things on paper but still didn’t feel like myself.

The Blind Spot in Root Cause Healing

Here’s what most people (and even practitioners) miss:

A diagnosis is a tool, not a truth.

Yes, it can give us language and validation. But it can also become a crutch. It can keep us from going deeper into the mental, emotional, and spiritual terrain that is often the real root.

The body is wise. It speaks through symptoms. But if we’re only treating the symptom—even with natural remedies—we’re missing the point.

The Real Root Cause: Disconnection from Self

So what is the root cause?

In my personal and professional experience, it always comes down to one thing:

Disconnection from your body’s wisdom.

We’ve been taught to outsource our health. To chase the next protocol, diet, hormone hack, or lab result.

But true healing doesn’t come from fixing yourself. It comes from coming home to yourself.

A New Paradigm of Healing: Counseling Meets Medicine

This is why I now integrate naturopathic medicine with holistic counseling and mind-body coaching in my work.

Because healing isn’t just about what you eat or what you take. It’s about how you feel, what you believe, and what patterns you're still holding onto.

When we combine:

  • Gentle somatic work

  • Emotional awareness

  • Root-cause functional medicine

  • Intuitive body wisdom

...healing stops being a struggle, and starts becoming a sacred return.

From Wounds to Wisdom: A Group Healing Experience

This is exactly why I’m creating a transformational group experience—to guide you from confusion and chronic symptoms into clarity and embodied trust.

It's not just for those with a diagnosis. It's for anyone who:

  • Feels disconnected from their body

  • Has tried "everything" with little lasting change

  • Knows there’s a deeper root waiting to be revealed
